Thou art Goddess... I am Goddess... we are Goddess. The Goddess is all life - all things.
It's storming right now. The rain is pouring down on the roof of my hundred-year-old house. It's worn, in need of repair, but well loved. My house is Goddess.
The lightning strikes with brilliant flashes of white, brightening the sky up like day. The thunder is never too far behind. When I was a child my mother told me that "god" was bowling and that was how thunder was made. I always wondered why "god's" league never met on the same day every week and why some weeks they didn't play at all.
This storm I sit in is Goddess. It's the growl of the Great Mother Bear, the tears of the Mourning Crone, and the the shining light of the Free-Spirited Maiden. She is with me, around me, surrounding me, and within me.

My mother told me the horses were galloping over the clouds. (Where were they going?)
I adore storms lately. The Growl of the Great Mother is an awesome metaphor.
Thanks Wyn - do you mind that short version of your name? I have a habit of giving people shorter names. :)
I adore a good thunderstorm. It's real and raw - just like everything in life should be IMO.
I love seeing your name in the comments. Thanks for reading!
I always think of a storm, including the wind and lightning, as faeries at play. When I see a storm coming that looks like a bad one (and we have some really bad ones in the Deep South...something called "Summer Pattern" where the heat and humidity are so great during the day that storms build up every afternoon) I can do one of two things.
1.) If I am outside I can draw the sigil for the Rune Spirit of Protection (Algiz) that walks with me every day, and ask him to part the bad stuff when it comes our way and just give us the nourishing rain and keep our power on. That always works well.
2.) I can call on the faeries of air, fire, and water (the 3 that are playing and make up the storm) and ask for the same thing. That always works well too.
You're right, storms are spiritual (spirits) and when you befriend them they are happy to work with you. I can't imagine life without the the Rune Spirits and the Fey...they are all so wonderful!!
Magickal blessings for a charmed day. :)
Isn't that funny! My family also attributed thunder to God bowling. I wonder how widespread that idea really is.
I love the picture you included in this post. Fantastic!
Nice post, hon. Really nice post.
A 100 year old house? That's getting pretty old. The center part of the building I live in was a one room 12 X 16 foot house built in the 1930's. A family of four lived in it.
I gutted it out and redid it. That is what I live in, and I'm okay with that. I do have another room to do but I keep getting distracted doing other things. Goddess doesn't mind.
Well, my Goddess isn't here to tell me what she would like me to do to it.
Have a wonderful day. Hugs.
In fact I'm going to make a permanent link to this post on my blog this evening.
Right now, it's time to head to Fellowship, sounds like an interesting speaker today.
Sorry. I was way busy this weekend. :)
Laura - that is lovely. How magical and fascinating.
Jarred - it would be interesting to do a poll or something on it. My husband says he heard the same thing as a kid.
BBC - thanks! Your house sounds very loved as well. I think old(er) things have more charm - more character. They feel cozy and warm. And thanks so much for the link.
Okay, time for a new post.
